WHAT IT DOES

What is FrameMint?

FrameMint is a free browser tool for organizing AI-generated sprite sheets and existing PNG sequences. It slices, previews, reorders and positions frames, then exports GIF animations or PNG assets.

How to use FrameMint

  1. Open a PNG, JPG or WebP sheet, set rows, columns, gaps and offsets, then apply the grid. Or import a PNG sequence.
  2. Preview the animation. Reorder or remove frames, change timing and adjust positions with a previous-frame overlay.
  3. Export an animated GIF, a PNG sequence ZIP, or an atlas PNG with generic JSON metadata.

Common questions about FrameMint

Does FrameMint generate new frames with AI?

No. It organizes existing images, including those made with image generators. It cannot redraw a character or repair missing movement.

Does the GIF look identical to the PNG preview?

GIF has a limited palette and on/off transparency. Frame timing is rounded to 10 ms. PNG exports preserve full alpha; check the downloaded GIF separately.

Can I import the atlas JSON directly into any game engine?

The JSON is a documented generic coordinate and timing format with a top-left origin. It is not an engine-specific import preset. Check your engine’s sprite import settings.

Is there a sign-up or upload?

No account is required and image files remain on your device. Cloudflare Web Analytics and small aggregate action counters are separate from your image data.

From generated image to usable motion.

FIELD NOTES
FrameMint arranges existing frames; it does not generate missing motion or redraw inconsistent characters. Up to 64 frames and 20 MB of input files, with 16 megapixels of decoded input in total. GIF uses a limited palette and on/off transparency. Export limits are checked before processing. Your artwork keeps its original rights.
